On The Road Again
It’s that time of year when we seem to make a lot of trips into town – town being Creston or Nelson. Today we went to Creston – a rather dull day weather wise, but it was warm, plus 4° C (or about 39 ° F) and raining off and on. No snow on the Highway so driving was pleasant although lots of windshield washing was necessary! But apparently the Salmo Creston (or the Kootenay Pass as they now call it) was closed for a while and that traffic diverts to Highway 3A that winds along the eastern shore of Kootenay Lake. We have never seen a traffic line-up like this since they repaved the Highway a few years ago!! This time of year we can drive to Creston and only see three or four other vehicles the entire trip. That’s one of the reasons we love it here – no gridlock!
