I’m A Chickadee!

A Black Capped Chickadee flew in front and above me this morning – they are such fun to watch, and happy little birds.  Interesting write-up about them on the Cornell Lab of Ornithology website.  

My favourite paragraph was “Every autumn Black-capped Chickadees allow brain neurons containing old information to die, replacing them with new neurons so they can adapt to changes in their social flocks and environment even with their tiny brains.”

So….the next time you’ve forgotten something, just pretend you are a Chickadee and have cleared out the old information!!  Happy Birding!
