Glacier Lily

The Glacier Lilies are popping up everywhere!  Love these cheerful little flowers and find it quite fascinating how the petals start out by reaching straight out, then slowly curl up.  These lilies were photographed at Kootenay Lake, BC.

"Erythronium grandiflorum is a North American species of plants in the lily family. It is known by several common names, including yellow avalanche lily, glacier lily, and dogtooth fawn lily."   From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
